Commemorating the visit of Seattle's exceptionally talented music producer SEAN WOLCOTT, who is quietly becoming a topic of conversation here in Japan! On Sunday, September 7th, from 3:00 PM, an in-store event will be held at Manhattan Records Shibuya with the "Shirakaba" crew, popular for their party at THE ROOM in Shibuya, and guest DJs KILLA TURNER, Hiroko Otsuka, and PoLoGod.

On the day of the event, the sorrowful ballad "Nine Lives Are Not Enough," sung in Japanese, from his masterpiece fictional Japanese film soundtrack "Lady Swordfighter," will be pre-sold as a Japan-exclusive 7-inch record from FOURTH WAVE RECORD FACTORY, scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 9th. The pre-sale for the 7-inch of "Nine Lives Are Not Enough" will begin at 3:00 PM.

It promises to be an unmissable day for vinyl diggers and fans of both Japanese and international grooves.

Sean Wolcott, the exceptionally talented Seattle-based music producer, whose name is quietly gaining recognition in Japan, is set to release "Nine Lives Are Not Enough," a mournful ballad sung in Japanese. This track is from "Lady Swordfighter," a masterpiece from his fictional Japanese film soundtrack series. It will be released as a Japan-exclusive 7-inch record by FOURTH WAVE RECORD FACTORY on Tuesday, September 9th.

"Lady Swordfighter," the ninth installment in his library series, has astonished fans of Japanese music and films. This particular track, known as a memorable piece within the album, brilliantly revives the echoes of exploitation scores from early 1970s period dramas and mystery films in a contemporary setting. Centered on psychedelic jazz-funk, it intertwines with ethereal Japanese sounds. Shakuhachi, koto, shinobue, and taiko drums intertwine with a roaring groove and distorted fuzz, elevating into a soul-stirring melody of sorrow. It is a drama painted with sound, an unprecedented auditory scroll.

SEAN WOLCOTT JAPAN 2025 SHURAI MUSHAMONO INFORMATION

Sean Wolcott, a Seattle-based composer, producer, and recording engineer who creates music blending jazz, funk, soul, and soundtrack-inspired sounds, is making his eagerly anticipated visit to Japan on September 5th (Friday), September 6th (Saturday), and September 7th (Sunday), 2025.

To commemorate Sean's visit, events will be held over three consecutive days in the Shibuya area: September 5th (Friday), September 6th (Saturday), and September 7th (Sunday).

On Friday, September 5th, there will be a movie screening at PERRYS (Shibuya) for the Japan premiere of his new work, "Shura Mushamono: Escape from Hachijo Island," along with sales of venue-exclusive T-shirts and posters.

On Saturday, September 6th, BLOW UP (Shibuya) will host a release party for "Shura Mushamono: Escape from Hachijo Island" with Sean himself and some of Japan's top vinyl diggers.

On Sunday, September 7th, at the long-established record shop MANHATTAN RECORDS, there will be a pre-release of the Japan-exclusive 7-inch cut "Nine Lives Are Not Enough" from his previous work "Shura Mushamono," as well as a collaborative in-store event with Shibuya THE ROOM's popular party "Shirakaba."

Sean Wolcott himself will be present at all venues.
