The 2024 live recording of the current band "Koki Tetragon" led by bassist Hiroki Ito, who has supported many musicians such as Tatsuro Yamashita, Mariya Takeuchi, and Kazuyoshi Saito since the 1970s, is now available on LP!!
Hiroki Ito is a super bassist who has participated in over 2,000 recordings from the 1970s to the present, including the impressive slap bass in Tatsuro Yamashita's "Sparkle" and "Ride on time", and has played as a support member for many musicians. The 2024 live recording of the current band "Koki Tetragon", formed in 2016 and led by Hiroki Ito, is now available on LP!! The main musical style is CLASSIC ROCK and FUNK, and they play a wide range of songs from SOUL to R&B. From A1 "Funny Trip Continued", A2 "Please Thank You", B1 "Wide Show", this is a Tetragon Funk piece, to A3 "Don't know why" which is sure to make you feel the popularity of Japanese AOR in recent years, to the mellow soul B3 "Aetara in My Dreams", to the hard rock B4 "Route 299" with drum breaks, this is a very satisfying album for fans of Japanese rock and pop music from the 70s and groove diggers alike. KOKI TETRAGON
Members: Hiroki Ito, Daiji Okai (until 2024), Junichiro Matsukawa, Haruo Kubota, Masahiro Miyazaki (from 2025)
Hiroki Ito, a bassist who is one of Japan's leading figures and the backbone of Yamashita Tatsuro, called on Daiji Okai of "Yoninbayashi" on drums, Junichiro Matsukawa of "SABBRABELLS" on guitar, and Haruo Kubota of "Pearl Brothers" to form the band in 2016 to gig as a rock and blues band for everyday use.
The "everyday" playing of these four musicians, who have a half-century of veteran careers, is full of refined technique and a sense of fun as an ensemble.
In 2017, the live album "The Classy Rock GIG at Yokohama STORMY MONDAY / Koki Tetragon" was released simultaneously on CD and DVD.
While live performances have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020, they have begun to create original songs, starting with their best cover numbers, and many songs of non-genre genres have begun to be born.
Four consecutive single records will be released between spring and winter 2024.
In April 2025, they will release "Shikotama," a CD containing new songs and music videos for all eight songs from the four single records of the previous year.
In June, they will release a LIVE ALBUM recording their 2024 tour.
Masahiro Miyazaki (Takanaka Masayoshi Band) will take over as drummer after the retirement of drummer Daiji Okai, who had been with the band until 2024.
The band themselves say that they are "a band with a short future and a promising future" (laughs), and are growing and maturing.
